Green bean plants have very good prospects for cultivation in Indonesia. Central Statistics
Agency (2019), green bean production in Riau in 2016 experienced a decline. The decline in land
area and green bean production in Riau Province is thought to be due to a decrease in the number of
harvested areas each year caused by land conversion, low soil fertility and inappropriate cultivation
techniques. Green bean farming in Riau Province still faces soil fertility challenges due to the
presence of Ultisol soil (PMK) which has low organic matter, low nutrient content, and is acidic.
For this reason, fertilization needs to be carried out and in this research NASA POC and pearl NPK
16:16:16 were used. The aim of this research was to determine the effect and obtain the best
interaction from administering Nasa Liquid Organic Fertilizer and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 on the
growth and production of green bean plants (Vigna radiata L).
This research was conducted at the agricultural faculty's experimental garden located at JL.
Yos Sudarso Km 8, Rumbai, Pekanbaru, Lancang Kuning University from April to June. This
research was conducted experimentally using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD).
This RAL consists of two factors, namely M (POC NASA) with 3 levels, and factor S (NPK Mutiara
Fertilizer 16:16:16) with 3 levels as well. Each factor had 3 replications, and the total trial unit
reached 27 plots. Each plot consisted of 6 plants, of which two were taken as samples. Thus, the
total number of plants involved in this research was 162 plants. The observation data was analyzed statistically using variance analysis. If the calculated F is greater than the F table of 5%, then
continue with the DMRT test at the 5% level.
The results of this study showed that giving POC NASA and NPK pearl 16:16:16 had a
significant effect on all observation parameters, namely plant height, stem diameter, pod weight, dry
seed weight per plant, weight of 100 grains. The lowest results were in the N0P0 treatment and the
highest were in the N2P1 treatment.
