PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH LIDI KELAPA SAWIT SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBUATAN PIRING LIDI BERNILAI EKONOMIS DI DESA LUBUK GARAM KECAMATAN SIAK KECIL KABUPATEN BENGKALIS

Abstract

Riau is known as the area that has the largest oil palm plantations in Indonesia, according to the Central Statistics Agency, which states that in 2019 until now there has been an increase in the area of ​​oil palm plantations. But so far the utilization of waste palm sticks is rarely done and left as is, even though these palm sticks can be used as woven material for making dishes, which of course apart from being economically valuable, it is also environmentally friendly and has high artistic value. This research was conducted in Bengkalis Regency, Siak Kecil District, Lubuk Garam Village, where the majority of the population has their own oil palm plantations. The target of the research is the entire village community, especially all young men and women. The goal is that they are able to utilize the waste of palm oil sticks into woven products that have a sale value. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results and conclusions of this study indicate that first, the plate products made from woven sticks are environmentally friendly, and have their own characteristics. Second, this study shows that the assistance activities provided to the people in Lubuk Garam Village were successful, judging by the large number of requests for plates that have entered in recent years, thus helping the economy of the surrounding community. Third, there is feedback from the Siak Kecil sub-district government, they provide further coaching assistance to craftsmen.
