REST AREA DI KAWASAN TOL TRANS SUMATERA DENGAN PENDEKATAN ARSITEKTUR MELAYU

Abstract

Road infrastructure is the lifeblood of smooth land traffic. Smooth traffic is very supportive of regional economic development, especially in Dumai-Pekanbaru. The Dumai-Pekanbaru Toll Road is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). The design of this rest area is expected to meet the need for supporting facilities on the toll road and can meet the need for a resting place for drivers. In terms of generating the identity of this area, Malay architecture in Riau can be used as an introduction to Malay culture to the community. The development of Malay architecture in Riau is very little, most buildings have the characteristics of a more modern building. Efforts that can be made in generating this identity can be done by applying the design method of the Malay Architecture approach.
