Abstract

This study examines how governance mechanisms affect audit timeliness in manufacturing companies in the industrial sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020 - 2023 period. Timely publication of financial reports is crucial for managing strategy and ensuring investor confidence, as audited reports are the most important source of information. Delays in financial reporting have become a significant issue for IDX-listed companies, potentially impacting their productivity. Using a quantitative approach, this study utilizes second-order time series data from 10 companies selected using purposive selection, resulting in 40 firm-year observations. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis using SPSS version 26. The findings reveal that managerial ownership and the size of the audit committee are significant factors influencing audit delay. Conversely, the study found that institutional ownership and the proportion of independent commissioners do not have a statistically significant effect on the duration of the audit process.
