Pemanfaatan Eco Enzyme Dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Air Sungai Siak Kota Pekanbaru

This study aimed to analyze the effect of eco-enzyme addition on the water quality of the Siak River in Pekanbaru City. An experimental method was applied at three sampling locations using eco-enzyme concentrations of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% with a five-day incubation period. Water quality parameters measured included pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), total dissolved solids (TDS), and color. The results indicated that eco-enzyme application reduced pH and DO values while increasing BOD, TDS, and color due to enhanced biodegradation of organic matter. The optimal eco-enzyme concentration ranged between 2.5% and 5%, which effectively promoted decomposition processes without causing excessive deterioration of water quality. These findings demonstrate that eco-enzyme has potential as a natural bioremediation agent for improving river water quality.
