This study endeavors to identify the types of speech acts present in "The Walking Dead" and their respective functions within the context of the series. Employing a qualitative method, the research focuses on analyzing utterances spoken by the main characters. The analysis reveals four main types of illocutionary acts: representatives, directives, commissures, and expressives. Representatives primarily involve stating, asserting, predicting, calling, and concluding functions. Directives encompass ordering, requesting, suggesting, warning, commanding, and inviting functions. Commissures include promising, offering, and threatening functions, while expressives involve apologizing, greeting, and complimenting functions. Notably, the findings underscore Rick's role as a prominent leader within the series. Rick often employs question forms to deliver commands effectively, demonstrates directive acts by urging collaboration and mutual protection among survivor groups, frequently inspires others, and ultimately emerges as a resilient and influential leader throughout the series.
Gustin Usmadhani Putri, Edward Edward, Mohd Fauzi Copyright (c) 2024 Gustin Usmadhani Putri, Edward Edward, Mohd Fauzi https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/20655 Fri, 07 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Kajian Semantik dalam Tunjuk Ajar Melayu Bab Ke-15 Tentang Musyawarah dan Mufakat Karya Tenas Effendy https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/20650
This study investigates semantic aspects within the Malay teaching points of the 15th chapter of "Deliberation and Consensus" by Tenas Effendy. It is a descriptive qualitative study that utilizes Eneste's theory of reduction, addition, and variation to analyze the changes found in the process of adapting the novel into the film. The primary data sources for this research are the text from the novel "Caging Skies" and scenes from the film "Jojo Rabbit". One significant change is the shift in genre, where Taika Waititi opts for a comedic approach in adapting the novel into his directed film, while Christine Leunens' original narrative is conveyed in a darker manner.
Qori Islami , Nadya Oktavia Copyright (c) 2024 Qori Islami https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/19609 Mon, 10 Jun 2024 14:36:58 +0000 Analisis Pengembangan Koleksi di Perpustakaan Stikes Payung Negeri Berdasarkan Kebutuhan Pengguna https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/20626
This study, entitled "Analysis of Collection Development at STIKES Payung Negeri Library Based on User Needs," employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques involved observation, interviews, and documentation. The aim was to assess the process of collection development at the STIKES Payung Negeri Library based on user needs. Participants included the library director, librarians, and students. Findings indicate suboptimal collection development practices. Analysis of user needs is inadequate, as required information is not consistently available. Collection selection is insufficient, with many incomplete books, resulting in difficulties for users in accessing needed information. Collection procurement relies solely on donations and self-publishing, while collection evaluation lacks clear stages, conducted only through questionnaire distribution. Collection development policies are not documented in writing, also relying on questionnaire dissemination. In conclusion, the library needs to enhance collection development strategies by better addressing user needs, improving collection selection accuracy, diversifying procurement sources, implementing more systematic collection evaluations, and documenting collection development policies in writing.
Mahmudah Luailiyatul , Rismayeti Rismayeti Copyright (c) 2024 Rismayeti Rismayeti, Mahmudah Luailiyatul https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/20626 Mon, 10 Jun 2024 15:13:56 +0000 Analisis Artikel Ilmiah Dosen Universitas Lancang Kuning Pada Sinta Tahun 2019-2022 https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/geliga/article/view/20338
The objective of this study is to evaluate how the scientific articles written by lecturers at Universitas Lancang Kuning are analyzed on SINTA from 2019 to 2022.
