Public spaces play a vital role in shaping urban identity and facilitating social interaction. This study evaluates the imageability of Gelora Imam Bonjol in Lubuk Sikaping using Kevin Lynch’s theory to assess how physical and visual elements contribute to the area’s image and identity formation. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through field observation, interviews, visual documentation, and mapping analysis of Lynch’s five elements: paths, edges, nodes, districts, and landmarks. The findings indicate that paths and nodes demonstrate high legibility, while edges and districts remain limited in spatial connectivity. The Tuanku Imam Bonjol Monument, as the main landmark, strengthens the site’s historical identity but remains underutilized as a social interaction space. Theoretically, this study extends the application of imageability and place identity concepts in small-town public space conservation. Practically, it proposes conservation-based design and management strategies to enhance local identity and the continuity of cultural values.
