Abstract

Simultaneous general elections in 2024 Based on Article 1 PKPU No. 7 of 2022, voters in the elections are Indonesian citizens (WNI) who are 17 years of age or older, are married, or have previously been married. Voters in this election have the right to vote during the General Election (Pemilu). The problem in this activity is what is the level of legal understanding related to voter education for Class XII students at SMA N 1 Sentajo Raya as first-time voters in increasing participation in the 2024 general election. 10 of 2008 Chapter IV article 19 paragraphs 1 and 2 and Article 20 states that first-time voters are Indonesian citizens who on the day of the election or voting are Indonesian citizens who are 17 years of age or older or are/have been married and have the right to vote. , and previously did not include voters due to the provisions of the Election Law. New voters in the political category are a group who are exercising their right to vote for the first time (Setiajid, 2011:19). This means that the criteria for first-time voters are those aged 17 years and over or married or who are exercising their right to vote for the first time when the general election is held. The results of community service (PKM) activities carried out at SMA N 1 Sentajo Raya, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency with the theme of Legal Counseling related to Voter Education for First-Time Voters, Class XII SMAN Students 1 Sentajo Raya in Increasing the Participation of Beginner Voters in the 2024 General Election
