Tanah Datar Regency is highly vulnerable to flash floods triggered by high-intensity rainfall and cold lava flow from Mount Marapi, posing risks to lives and infrastructure. This community service program ”helps the village to build” (PkM MNM), which aims to support disaster risk reduction efforts through the participatory development of a flood contingency plan in collaboration with the local Disaster Management Task Force (Satgas PB). The activities included coordination meetings, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), field surveys, participatory mapping, and data verification to ensure accuracy of hazard, evacuation routes, and resource information. The main output is a comprehensive contingency plan draft detailing emergency scenarios, early warning procedures, safe evacuation routes, assembly points, and clear roles and responsibilities for stakeholders during disasters. This initiative not only produces a practical operational guideline but also strengthens local capacity and awareness, forming an important foundation for sustainable preparedness and community resilience in Tanah Datar.
