This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The product developed was a Web-based Interactive Digital Laboratory for research-based Capsicum photosynthesis practicums. Product feasibility was assessed through validation by biology subject matter experts, instructional media experts, and biology education experts. The prototype was then tested to identify usability issues, evaluate, and gather feedback for product revision and improvement before implementation in an experimental class involving 36 Biology Education students at Universitas Indraprasta PGRI. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and research skills tests. The validation results showed scores of 80% from biology subject matter experts, categorized as highly valid, 90% from instructional media experts, and 93% from biology education experts. Students’ mean scores increased from 62.35 on the pretest to 84.27 on the posttest, with an N-gain value of 0.78, categorized as high. These findings indicate an improvement in students’ research skills following the use of the developed media. Therefore, the Web-based Interactive Digital Laboratory demonstrates a high level of validity and has the potential to support the development of students’ research skills in higher education.
