Author Guidelines

ComniTech: Journal of Computational Intelligence and Informatics

1. Scope of the Journal

ComniTech is an open-access peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, review articles, and case studies in the field of computational intelligence, informatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, computer science applications, and related interdisciplinary areas.

2. Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal’s online submission system at https://journal.unilak.ac.id/index.php/comnitech.

  • Submission must include:

    • Manuscript in MS Word format using the journal template.

    • Author Declaration Form.

    • Ethical Approval (if applicable).

    • Permission for use of third-party content (if applicable).

3. Manuscript Structure and Formatting

3.1 Title and Author Details

  • Title should be concise, informative, and not exceed 20 words.

  • Include full names of all authors, institutional affiliations (including department, institution, city, and country), and email of the corresponding author.

3.2 Abstract

  • 150–250 words in a single paragraph.

  • Should summarize the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Avoid references or abbreviations.

3.3 Keywords

  • Provide 5–7 keywords in alphabetical order.

3.4 Sections

Manuscript should follow this structure:

  1. Introduction

  2. Materials and Methods

  3. Results and Discussion

  4. Conclusion

  5. Acknowledgment (if applicable)

  6. Authors’ Declaration

  7. Authors’ Contribution Statement

  8. References

4. Tables and Figures

  • Figures: Caption placed below the figure (e.g., Figure 1. Title here). Refer to them in the text as “Fig. 1”.

  • Tables: Title placed above the table (e.g., Table 1. Title here). Refer to them in the text as “Table 1”.

  • Tables and figures must be cited in the text in numerical order and must not be included in the conclusion section.

  • Ensure image resolution is at least 300 dpi.

5. References

  • Use APA 7th edition style.

  • Font size for references: 10 pt.

  • References must be written in English.

  • Numbering should follow order of appearance and be cited as superscripts (e.g., text¹ or text¹,² or text¹–⁴).

  • At least 70% of references must be from the last five years.

  • Maximum 20% of references can be from conference papers.

  • Cite at least two articles previously published in ComniTech.

  • Each reference should include a DOI (or URL if DOI is unavailable).

6. Ethical and Legal Considerations

  • Authors must disclose any conflict of interest.

  • For studies involving human participants or tissues, authors must include:

    • Statement of ethical approval from relevant institutional review board.

    • Signed ethical consideration form.

  • For studies involving animals, an animal welfare statement is required.

  • If any third-party material (e.g., figures, images) is used, authors must submit permission to re-publish.

7. Authors’ Declaration (To Be Included in the Manuscript)

Authors must declare:

  • No conflict of interest.

  • Ownership or permission for all figures and tables.

  • Ethical clearance (if applicable).

Example:

Conflicts of Interest: None.
All Figures and Tables are original or used with permission.
Ethical Clearance: Approved by the Ethics Committee of [Institution Name].

8. Authors’ Contribution Statement

Clearly state each author’s contribution to the manuscript, using roles such as:

  • Conceptualization

  • Methodology

  • Data collection

  • Writing – original draft

  • Writing – review & editing

  • Supervision

Example:

Author A contributed to the conceptualization and writing. Author B was responsible for data collection and analysis. Author C supervised the study and reviewed the manuscript.

9. Review and Publication Process

  • All submissions undergo single blind peer review.

  • Authors will receive one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.

  • Accepted articles will be published online first.

10. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Currently, ComniTech does not charge any submission or publication fees.
