KOLABORASI KONSERVASI MANGROVE DAN EKOWISATA DI KECAMATAN SUNGAI APIT, KABUPATEN SIAK, RIAU

This study describes the mangrove conservation program in the Sungai Apit sub-district, especially in Mengkapan village and Sungai Kayu Ara Permai village. In the two villages there are mangrove conservation activities initiated by the local community, then collaborating with oil industry companies off the coast of the Lalang Strait. This conservation is developing and sustainable so as to establish mangrove ecotourism, mangrove conservation education to the community and schools. This study is a qualitative study with a rapid ethnographic approach. This research was carried out from October to November 2022 with a team from multi disciplines. Data was obtained through observation throughout the village, in-depth interviews and focused Group discussions (FGD). The data were analyzed by trends and patterns between units, then constructed by discussing the theory then described in the research report. This study found that mangrove conservation in the village of Mengkapan and Kayu Ara Permai was initiated by the local community and then received support from the company through a collaborative pattern. Community-initiated conservation produces sustainable conservation and public awareness about community conservation equally and opens up new economic sources through ecotourism, small businesses for local communities. This study concludes that collaboration programs between companies and communities based on community initiatives have better and sustainable. Mangrove ecotourism is the main requirement to ensure sustainable mangrove conservation. This study contributes to the study of community assistance, especially the approach to implementing CSR. This study can be used by the government and other companies as a reference for the company's CSR/TJSP program.
