UJI TOKSISITAS LIMBAH CAIR CUCIAN SEPEDAH MOTOR TERHADAP BENIH IKAN NILA (Oreochromis niloticus)

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fry are often used as toxicity test organisms because they are sensitive to water pollution. This study aims to determine the toxicity of motorcycle washing wastewater to tilapia fry through an acute toxicity test. The experiment was conducted with four variations of wastewater concentrations, namely 100%, 75%, 50%, and 0% as a control, with an observation time of 48 hours and a checking interval of every 2 hours. The results showed that in the first 2 hours all fish in the 100%, 75%, and 50% concentrations died, while fish in the control medium remained alive. During the 48 hours of observation, the medium with wastewater showed a foul odor due to fish decay, while in the control only one death occurred. Based on these results, the 48-hour LC₅₀ value is estimated to be below 50% concentration, which indicates that motorcycle washing wastewater is highly toxic to tilapia fry and has the potential to pollute the aquatic environment
