THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BUSY BOOK MEDIA IN IMPROVING THE ABILITY TORECOGNIZE NUMBER SYMBOLS 1 TO 5 AMONG CHILDREN WITHMILD INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

This study aimed to determine whether busy book media is effective in improving the ability to recognize number symbols from 1 to 5 among children with mild intellectual disabilities. The study employed an experimental method using a Single Subject Research (SSR) design with an A-B-A format. Data were analyzed using visual graph analysis. The results of data analysis from 17 observation sessions conducted under three conditions showed that the baseline phase (A1) yielded scores of 0%, 0%, and 0%. During the intervention phase (B), the scores increased to 20%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 40%, 60%, 60%, and 60%. Finally, in the second baseline phase (A2), the scores were 40%, 60%, 80%, 60%, 60%, and 60%. The findings indicate that the ability to recognize number symbols from 1 to 5 improved after the implementation of busy book media for a student with mild intellectual disabilities in Grade I/C at SLBN 1 Painan.
