The Effect of Transformational Leadership Style and Work Discipline on Employee Performance at The Class I TPI Pekanbaru Immigration Office

Abstract

This study examines the influence of transformational leadership and work discipline on employee performance at the Class I Immigration Office TPI Pekanbaru. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. The study involved 80 employees selected using a census sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The results show that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (t = 2.895, p = 0.005), indicating that effective leadership practices contribute to improved employee outcomes. Work discipline also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (t = 3.961, p < 0.001), demonstrating that disciplined employees tend to perform better. Furthermore, the simultaneous test reveals that transformational leadership and work discipline jointly have a significant effect on employee performance (F = 25.149, p < 0.001). Reliability testing using Cronbach’s Alpha confirmed that all research instruments were reliable. The findings suggest that strengthening transformational leadership practices and fostering work discipline can enhance employee performance, organizational effectiveness, and the quality of public service delivery at the Class I Immigration Office TPI Pekanbaru.
