Abstract

Student-centered learning is no longer a new thing but the implementation itself is quite far from expectations. There are still many teachers who still dominate in the classroom, so learning is more monotonous. In addition, the reason for the many administrations that must be done and junior high school children are children of transitional age looking for identity also makes the reason for teachers to be busy in routines that sometimes ignore the actual learning activities. Through mapping the quality report cards of SMP Negeri 3 Bangko on the competency standards of graduates on the dimensions of knowledge and skills and process standards, it was found that school weaknesses/problems related to learning were found, namely the low motivation of students to learn and the lack of use of learning media in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of learning by 3.64. This study aims to determine how much the use of learning media that can be applied by teachers, its impact on improving the quality of student learning and the achievement of students' well-being which affects the increase in students' learning motivation after teachers are given In House Training (IHT) Making Simple Learning Media Using Secondhand. Correspondents for this study were from all 16 teachers and 30 students of SMP Negeri 3 Bangko, Rokan Hilir Regency. This type of research uses observation techniques using monitoring and evaluation instruments (monitoring and evaluation). The results showed that there was a significant difference when teachers used learning media from used goods to increase students' learning motivation compared to before. In other words, the teacher's ability to choose and utilize media is directly proportional to student learning motivation. From the results of observations and student acknowledgments, the results/impact of In House Training (IHT) on increasing learning motivation/learning quality of students averaged 83.75 in the first cycle and increased to 93.33 in the second cycle. These results have given the answer that through In House Training Making Simple Learning Media Using Used Goods can increase the learning motivation of students at SMP Negeri 3 Bangko, Rokan Hilir Regency.
