Abstract

Okra plant (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is a type of horticultural plant that grows in tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world. The distribution of okra plants in general is very easy to spread, especially in areas that have a tropical climate. Based on data from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, okra production in 2014 was 1,360 tons. Efforts to ensure that plants can grow well on PMK soil are by providing Azolla microphylla bokashi fertilizer and Phonska Plus NPK inorganic fertilizer to help increase fertility in the soil and provide optimal nutrient requirements for plants. The aim of this research was to obtain the best response to growth and production of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) plants given Bokashi Azolla microphylla and NPK Phonska Plus on PMK soil.

This research was carried out at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Lancang Kuning University, Jl. Yos Sudarso Km 8, Rumbai, Pekanbaru. With flat topography and an altitude of 16 mpl, and Red and Yellow Podzolic soil type (PMK). This research was carried out for 3 months from January - March 2024. The research was carried out experimentally with a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of two factors, namely Bokashi Azolla microphylla (B), consisting of 3 levels, and the Phonska Plus NPK factor. (N) consists of 3 levels, each consisting of 3 replications. The number of experimental units is 27 plots, each plot consists of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples, so the total number of plants is 27 x 4 = 108 plants.

Based on the results of variance analysis, it shows that the interaction of Bokashi Azolla microphylla and NPK Phonska Plus has a significant effect on all observation parameters, namely stem diameter, plant height, age at start of flowering, productive branches, fresh weight per plant, number of fruit per plant, length of fruit per plant, with the best combination of giving Bokashi Azolla microphylla 3 kg/plot and NPK Phonska Plus 15 g/plant.
