Abstract

Edamame soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) is a leguminous vegetable crop with a relatively high nutritional  value, particularly its protein content, which reaches approximately 36%, higher than that of common soybean  varieties. However, the cultivation of edamame on Ultisols is often constrained by poor soil physical and chemical properties. This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Lancang Kuning University, from August to October 2025.The objective of this study was to determine the effects of kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) green manure and bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer, as well as their interaction, on the growth and yield of edamame soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill). The experiment was arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was kirinyuh green manure applied at three levels: 0, 500, and 1,000 g plot⁻¹. The second factor was bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer applied at three concentrations: 0, 200, and 400 mL L⁻¹ of water. Each treatment combination was replicated three times, resulting in 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of six plants, giving a total of 162 plants, with three plants per plot selected as sample plants. The results showed that the interaction between kirinyuh green manure and bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer significantly  affected the growth and yield of edamame soybean. The best treatment was the Q2P0 combination (1,000 g plot⁻¹ of kirinyuh green manure without bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer), which significantly increased plant height, number of pods per plant, pod weight per plant, number of filled pods, and filled pod weight. The singlefactor analysis also showed that the application of kirinyuh green manure at 1,000 g plot⁻¹ (Q2) significantly improved plant height, number of pods per plant, pod weight per plant, number of filled pods, and filled pod
weight.
