This study aims to analyze and compare biology laboratory management between two public senior high schools in Pekanbaru with different accreditation statuses: School A (Accreditation A) and School B (Accreditation B). The study used a descriptive mixed methods approach with three data collection methods: field observation, semi-structured interviews, and student response questionnaires. The questionnaire instrument consisted of 30 statements covering five dimensions based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) framework: (1) Program Planning and Socialization, (2) Laboratory Organization, (3) Implementation of Practical Activities, (4) Supervision and Evaluation, and (5) Facility Conditions and Practical Impacts. The questionnaire respondents were 25 students from School A and 24 students from School B. The results showed significant differences between the two schools. School A (Accreditation A) obtained an average score of 3.45/4.00 (Very Good category), with the highest dimension being Facility Conditions (3.66) and the lowest being Supervision (3.24). In contrast, School B (Accredited B) obtained an overall score of 61.70% (Good category), with a very worrying dimension of Practical Implementation, especially the frequency of practical work only reaching 37.5% (Poor). Critical findings include: the absence of permanent laboratory assistants in both schools, low involvement of the principal in laboratory supervision, and the gap between the availability of physical facilities and their utilization. This study concluded that accreditation status correlates with the quality of laboratory management, but both schools face the same structural issues related to human resources for laboratory assistants. Recommendations focus on the appointment of permanent laboratory assistants, increasing the frequency of practical work, and strengthening the supervisory mechanism based on regulations of the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 24/2007 and No. 26/2008.
