The management of medical B3 waste at Puri Husada Tembilahan Hospital is supported by several main factors, namely the existence of hospital management policies and commitments, the availability of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), cooperation with licensed third parties, and the availability of basic facilities such as special waste bins, safety boxes, transport trolleys, and B3 waste TPS. These obstacles include limited human resources who have not fully received special training, limited facilities and infrastructure, and dependence on third parties. In facing these various challenges, Puri Husada Tembilahan Hospital has implemented a number of strategies, including strengthening internal policies and regulations through SOPs, implementing waste sorting from the source, providing supporting facilities and infrastructure, and cooperation with licensed third parties for the transportation and destruction of B3 waste.
