Abstract

Soil surface insects play an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Changes in environmental conditions such as forest fires can disrupt habitats and reduce insect diversity. The purpose of this study was to examine the composition and diversity of ground insects on burned land in Hujung Village, Belalau, Lampung Barat . The method used is a survey with location selection using purposive sampling, sampling is carried out during the dry season and rainy season. Sampling was carried out using 10 pitfall traps per plot (20 x 20 m) installed parallel to the ground surface and left for 24 hours. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively through calculations of relative abundance, diversity index, evenness index, and dominance index. The results showed that the total number obtained from both observation periods was 3 Orders, 4 Families, and 10 Species. The dominant order was Hymenoptera with the Formicidae family at 43% in dry season and 84% in rainy season. There were four species from 10 species that found in both seasons, namely Harpalus rufipes, Camponotus sp., Teleogryllus emma, and Velarifictorus micado.
