Biomass waste generated from the harvesting of Industrial Plantation Forests (HTI), particularly the bark of Acacia crassicarpa and Eucalyptus pellita, holds significant potential as a raw material for value-added products such as liquid smoke. This study aims to analyze the physical and chemical characteristics of liquid smoke derived from the pyrolysis of Acacia crassicarpa and Eucalyptus pellita bark. Pyrolysis was carried out using a closed drum reactor at a temperature of 300–400°C. Parameters analyzed include yield, pH, moisture content, specific gravity, acetic acid concentration, and phenolic compound content based on GC-MS analysis. The results showed that Acacia crassicarpa produced the highest yield at 2.31% with dominant phenol content (33.39%), whereas Eucalyptus pellita had a lower yield (1.03%) but contained a higher concentration of acetic acid (1.089%). Both types of liquid smoke exhibited very high moisture content (9.,9%) and strongly acidic pH levels (2.4–2.5). GC-MS analysis revealed that Acacia crassicarpa had a higher concentration of phenolic compounds, while Eucalyptus pellita exhibited greater diversity in aromatic compounds. This study demonstrates that liquid smoke derived from HTI bark waste has high potential as a natural preservative and plant-based biopesticide.
