Review Process

To maintain the high standard of research published in the Geliga journal and to foster the advancement of knowledge in the Humanities and Social Sciences fields. Several important steps need to be taken to ensure the quality and validity of the research. Here is a general outline of the review process:

  1. Submission: The author submits their research manuscript to the journal, following the journal's guidelines for formatting and content.
  2. Editorial Assessment: The journal's editor-in-chief or a technical editor reviews the manuscript to check its relevance, originality, follow the formatting template, and adherence to the journal's scope. They may reject the paper at this stage if it does not meet the basic criteria or is not aligned with the journal's focus.
  3. Peer Review: If the manuscript passes the editorial assessment, it is sent for peer review. The editor selects expert reviewers from the relevant field to evaluate the research objectively. Peer reviewers are typically anonymous to the authors, ensuring unbiased feedback.
  4. Reviewer Feedback: The reviewers thoroughly assess the manuscript, evaluating its methodology, analysis, results, conclusions, and overall contribution to the field. They provide detailed feedback and comments to the authors, indicating any strengths, weaknesses, or potential areas of improvement.
  5. Revision: Based on the reviewer feedback, the authors may need to revise their manuscript, addressing all the comments and concerns raised by the reviewers.
  6. Decision: After receiving the revised manuscript, the editor assesses whether the authors have adequately addressed the reviewer's comments and whether the manuscript meets the journal's standards. The editor then decides on one of the following outcomes:
    • Acceptance: The paper is accepted for publication.
    • Minor Revision: The paper requires minor changes before acceptance.
    • Major Revision: The paper requires significant changes and further review.
    • Rejection: The paper does not meet the journal's criteria and is not accepted for publication.
  7. Second Round of Review (if applicable): If the manuscript was sent back for major revision, the authors must make the necessary changes. The revised version is then sent back to the reviewers for another round of evaluation.
  8. Final Decision: Once the revised manuscript is reviewed, the editor makes the final decision whether to accept or reject the paper.
  9. Proofreading (if applicable): If the manuscript is accepted, the authors are given the opportunity to proofread the final version before publication.
