Penanaman Kemampuan Berpikir Konstruktif Anak Usia Dini melalui Kegiatan Cooking Class

This study aims to analyse the development of constructive thinking skills in children aged 4–5 years through cooking classes at the Giri Sentana Early Childhood Education Centre. The study was prompted by the children’s low ability to solve problems independently and their lack of creativity. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with 15 children as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, with validity testing through triangulation. Data analysis utilised the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which encompasses data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that cooking classes, conducted through the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation, demonstrated a change in children’s constructive thinking behaviour. This was marked by the children’s ability to ask questions, put forward ideas, explain the steps of the activity, and solve simple problems during the process. The children also appeared confident in exploring ingredients and tools, demonstrated creativity in decorating food, and were able to complete tasks independently and responsibly.
