Abstract

Rental mobil merupakan jenis usaha yang bergerak dibidang jasa pelayanan dan penyewaan mobil. jasa penyewaan mobil tersebut bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat dalam berbagai macam keperluan masing-masing, sehingga banyak sekali bisnis rental mobil di kalangan masyarakat. Semakin ketat juga persaingan dalam usaha rental mobil. tetapi tidak banyak pemilik rental mobil yang menggunakan teknologi informasi, banyak yang masih menggunakan media promosi dengan spanduk atau banner yang diletakkan di tempat usaha masing-masing, salah satunya rental mobil mas joko yang berada di daerah Sidoarjo yang masih menggunakan buku dalam merekap transaksi customer dan laporan harian customer. Pengelolahan secara manual sering terjadi menimbulkan kesalahan (human eror) sehingga banyak data-data yang hilang atau rusak. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk merancang sistem informasi berbasis web agar mempermudah pemilik dalam mengolah bisnis usaha rental mobil, sehingga pemesanan dan transaksi customer dapat dilakukan dengan online.  Bahasa pemograman yang dipakai dalam merancang sistem informasi berbasis web ini dengan menggunakan PHP dan MySQL serta menggunakan framework codeigniter. penelitian ini dilakukan agar pemilik rental dan customer jadi lebih efisien dalam mengengolah penyewaan mobil.
