Pembuatan peta digital merupakan suatu cabang ilmu desain grafis, dimana peta tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan untuk berbagai keperluan internal institusi. Adapun peta digital sudah tersedia layanannya seperti google maps®, tomtom®, dan lain sebagainya. Pemetaan digital (juga disebut kartografi digital) adalah proses dimana suatu kumpulan data dikompilasi dan diformat menjadi gambar digital. Fungsi utama dari teknologi ini adalah untuk menghasilkan peta yang memberikan representasi akurat dari daerah tertentu, merinci jalan utama dan tempat menarik lainnya. Teknologi ini juga memungkinkan untuk perhitungan jarak dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Publikasi artikel ini membahas tentang pembuatan peta digital institusi universitas lancang kuning yang memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan dengan layanan peta digital yang tersedia, baik berbayar ataupunyang gratis. Pembuatan peta digital ini dibuat dengan menyertakan view 3 Dimensi untuk bangunan tertentu
