In international seminars, language use has an important role in conveying messages and influencing audiences. This study aims to identify and analyse the persuasive practices used by speakers in international seminars through critical discourse analysis. The method of analysis involves analysing the text of the seminar flyer, focusing on the rhetorical structure, word choice, and linguistic strategies used to persuade the audience. The results show that speakers often utilise techniques such as repetition, metaphor, and inclusive word choice to build rapport with the audience and strengthen their arguments. In addition, strategic use of language can increase the credibility of the speaker and the message conveyed. The conclusion of this study is that critical discourse analysis can identify effective persuasive techniques in cross-cultural communication at international seminars, which can be a guide for speakers to improve their communication skills.
