THE INFLUENCE OF MULTICULTURAL AWARENESS ON STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH TOLERANCE ATTITUDE AS A MEDIATING VARIABLE AT SMP SWASTA PERGURUAN WAHIDIN ROKAN HILIR REGENCY

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Multicultural Awareness (X1) on Tolerance Attitude (X2) and Academic Achievement (Y) of students at SMP Swasta Perguruan Wahidin, Rokan Hilir Regency. The study applies a quantitative method with a correlational design, and employs SmartPLS 3 for data analysis. A sample of [number of respondents] students from Rokan Hilir was selected. Data were gathered through a questionnaire assessing students' multicultural awareness, tolerance attitude, and academic achievement. The results show that Multicultural Awareness (X1) has a significant positive effect on Tolerance Attitude (X2), and Tolerance Attitude (X2) acts as a mediating variable between Multicultural Awareness (X1) and Academic Achievement (Y). These findings underline the role of multicultural education in fostering a more inclusive learning environment and improving students' academic performance. The study concludes that enhancing Multicultural Awareness and Tolerance Attitude can lead to better academic achievement for students.
