Transformasi Peran Perpustakaan dalam Literasi Informasi di Era Digital: Narrative Literature Review

Information literacy has declined significantly in the digital age, with the 2022 PISA study showing an 18-point decline in the international average, while Indonesia experienced a 12-point decline. This condition emphasizes the urgency of transforming the role of academic libraries, no longer merely as centers of information, but as key facilitators in strengthening students' critical thinking skills to navigate an increasingly complex, massive, and digitally influenced information landscape. This study used a narrative literature review method by analyzing 15 selected articles from a total of 76 publications published in the 2021–2025 period. Data sources were obtained through the Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases, with a focus on the transformation of libraries in information literacy in the digital era. The synthesis results show a consistent increase in students' information retrieval skills, source evaluation, and research competencies after participating in information literacy programs. However, the effectiveness of implementing these programs still faces a number of obstacles, such as limited digital infrastructure, a lack of librarians who act as learning facilitators, and challenges in adapting to post-pandemic learning changes and the emergence of generative AI. Based on these findings, this study recommends strengthening collaboration between librarians and lecturers through the ACRL framework, implementing a hybrid learning model, integrating information literacy into the LIS curriculum from an early stage, and developing context-based content. This strategy is expected to optimize the role of academic libraries as inclusive and adaptive centers of information literacy in the face of digital disruption
