The rapid growth of scientific publications has created challenges in maintaining the relevance, currency, and quality of referenced literature, thereby necessitating systematic evaluation of journal publications. This study aimed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the bibliometric characteristics of the Journal of Information and Library Studies published by Universitas Padjadjaran during the 2020–2024 period. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using bibliometric analysis of 82 articles with a total of 2,486 cited references collected through documentation techniques. Descriptive analysis was applied to examine literature obsolescence, author productivity, and collaboration patterns, while network visualization using VOSviewer was utilized to explore co-authorship and co-occurrence relationships. The results indicated a dominant use of journal articles as primary reference sources, a relatively current literature half-life, publication patterns predominantly characterized by collaborative authorship, and the development of research themes focused on literacy, information literacy, and digital media. Overall, the bibliometric characteristics of the journal reflected active, collaborative, and responsive research dynamics within the field of library and information science.
