IMPLEMENTASI PEMIKIRAN JÜRGEN HABERMAS TERHADAP ILMU PERPUSTAKAAN DAN INFORMASI

Tulisan ini berjudul “Implementasi Pemikiran Jürgen Habermas terhadap Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi”. Judul tersebut menarik untuk ditulis mengingat ranah keilmuan yang dimiliki oleh perpustakaan adalah interdisipliner, sehingga ilmu perpustakaan memerlukan ilmu yang lain, tidak terkecuali filsafat, dan Habermas merupakan tokoh filsafat. Sehingga penulis artikel ingin mengetahui dan mengemukakan pemikiran-pemikiran serta sumbangan Habermas terhadap dunia perpustakaan dan informasi. Hasil dari pengamatan penulis, ditemukan bahwa Habermas memiliki pemikiran tentang Communicative Action dan Public Sphere. Pada konsep Communicative Action ini, pustakawan selaku pengelola perpustakaan tidak akan terlepas dari proses komunikasi. Seorang pustakawan dituntut untuk mampu mengkomunikasikan pelayanan yang disediakan agar layanan yang disediakan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pemustaka. Sedangkan pada public sphere, pustakawan dituntut untuk menciptakan ruang publik di perpustakaan, yang dapat menjadi tempat untuk saling berkomunikasi sebagai bagian dari aktivitas sosial pemustaka. Habermas mencoba untuk melihat fenomena-fenomena sosial melalui sudut pandang pemecahan masalah. Dia mencoba meramu berbagai referensi sehingga menghadirkan pemecahan masalah yang sedikit berbeda.

Abstract
This paper, entitled “”Implementation of Jürgen Habermas Thoughts on Library and Information Science”. The title is interesting to write considering the realm of science which is owned by the library is interdisciplinary, so the library science requires other sciences, and philosophy is no exception, and Habermas is a philosopher. So the author of this article would like to know and express Habermas thoughts and contribution to the libraries and information science. The results of the observation, the author found that Habermas has thought of Communicative Action and the Public Sphere. On the concept of Communicative Action, the librarian as manager of the library will not be separated from the communication process. A librarian is required to communicate the services provided so that the services provided can be used by user. While in the public sphere, librarians are required to create a public space in the library, that can be a place to communicate with each other as a part of user social activity. Habermas tries to look at social phenomena through the viewpoint of problem solving. He tried to draw on a wide range of reference, thus presenting a slightly different problem solving.
