Abstract

Pekanbaru is a city that experiences very rapid population growth every year, this also affects the volume of vehicles on Pekanbaru city roads. One of them is traffic at the U-turn on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution, precisely in front of Pasar Raya Mallindo, Pekanbaru City, which is a four-lane highway with two directions. This road is the main access to shopping centers, souvenir shops, cafes, food parks and hotels, so it has quite high traffic volumes and is prone to congestion. The U-turn also has a gas station, which causes drivers, especially motorbikes, to often go in the opposite direction to save time rather than having to use the U-turn. This research aims to determine the performance of u-turns on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution, precisely in front of Pasar Raya Mallindo, Pekanbaru City. The method used for this research is the 2023 Indonesian road capacity guidelines (PKJI 2023). The research results showed that the peak volume on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution occurred in the direction of Jalan Sudirman towards UIR at 1987.95 pcu/hour. The lowest speed on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution occurred from Jalan Sudirman towards UIR on Monday at 17:00-18: 00 at 20.89 km/hour. The highest peak of side obstacles occurred in the direction of Jalan Sudirman towards UIR at 43.5 events/hour. The side obstacle class was in the very low category. The longest queue length on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution occurred in the direction of Jalan Sudirman towards UIR at 19.2 m. The greatest degree of saturation on Jalan Kaharudin Nasution occurs in the direction of Jalan Sudirman towards UIR at 0.58. Then the level of service that can be obtained is category C.
