Abstract

This study examines the management tactics employed by the principal of MAN 1 Rokan Hilir to improve students' non-academic accomplishments. The research examines the impact of leadership strategies rooted in planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC) on student success beyond academic achievements.
In the contemporary educational environment, non-academic accomplishments significantly influence the development of student character, leadership, and innovation. MAN 1 Rokan Hilir has exhibited sustained superiority in non-academic competitions, necessitating an evaluation of the school's leadership strategy. The study aims to discover and delineate the principal's techniques for managing extracurricular development to enhance student outcomes beyond the classroom. A qualitative methodology with a phenomenological design was implemented. Data were gathered via interviews, observations, and documentation including the principal, vice principal of student affairs, extracurricular advisors, and high-achieving students. The analysis was driven by the POAC framework. The principal's techniques encompass systematic planning of extracurricular programs, explicit allocation of responsibilities, inspirational leadership, and ongoing oversight. These initiatives resulted in pupils securing victories in competitions at the district, regional, and national tiers. Strategic school management utilizing the POAC model, bolstered by collaborative leadership and active stakeholder engagement, markedly enhances the development of students' non-academic potential and fortifies the school's reputation. Adn there another strategy.
