Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru Elementary School accepts new students every year, so the number of students continues to increase, with the current number reaching 362. Education about vegetable plants that can be grown in yards is very important because the available land is still possible to utilize. In addition to self-consumption, the harvest also has the potential to be sold as a source of additional income. The P2M team from Lancang Kuning University offers counseling and training in vegetable cultivation to increase student and teacher motivation in utilizing yards and free time for productive activities. This training is provided in response to the recent increase in vegetable prices in Pekanbaru, by utilizing vegetable seeds that are easily obtained and cultivated. The target output of this activity is to increase the knowledge and motivation of partner groups, as well as the publication of scientific articles. The methods used include counseling, training, and evaluation. This activity also demonstrated increased motivation among teachers and students to utilize their free time and school yards for productive activities, such as planting vegetables for food and as a business opportunity to increase income. Following the PKM activity, teachers and students demonstrated increased understanding and skills in utilizing school yards, and they harvested vegetables for consumption and food security.
