PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI DIGITAL SISWA DI SMAS KEMALA BHAYANGKARI MELALUI PODCAST PLATFORM SPOTIFY
Abstract
Podcasts are used as one of the media to improve students' digital literacy skills. Based on the observations made, students at Kemala Bhayangkari High School have a lack of interest in reading texts. Students often feel bored and disinterested when they have to read texts as a source of information. This study aims to describe the improvement of digital literacy skills among 10th-grade students at Kemala Bhayangkari High School through the podcast platform Spotify. The research method used is qualitative with in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consist of 10 students who have been listening to podcasts via the Spotify platform for more than 6 months. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is ensured through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study show that the use of the Spotify podcast platform can improve the digital literacy skills of 7 out of 10 informants. Utilizing the features offered by Spotify demonstrates benefits in enhancing students' digital literacy skills through the podcast platform, such as improving topic comprehension, increasing stimulation and imagination, and enhancing learning motivation. The impact of improving students' digital literacy skills shows an improvement in verbal abilities, enriching knowledge, enhancing critical thinking skills, and broadening perspectives.
