Abstract

The Diporejo Farmers prosessed coconut shell waste into grade C liquid smoke by conservative destilation. Grade C of liquid smoke can only be used on a limited basis in the agricultural sector as an organic pesticide or to control plant pests and diseases with less effectiveness. The solution offered is to improve the quality of liquid smoke by implementing appropriate technology with a more adequate distillation set. The activity methods carried out included location surveys, socialization, preparation of working program plans, training and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation activities. The results of the activity showed that the Diporejo Farmers Group was able to produce liquid smoke with a new distillation equipment, and the liquid smoke produced has been proven to increase from Grade C to Grade A. Through this activity, the farmers group could supply group's necessary for internal use and it has the potential to be marketed into the society, thereby increasing the farmers group's income and strengthening competitiveness in the era of modern agriculture based on technological innovation.
