Nagari Aie Angek in Tanah Datar Regency is highly vulnerable to flash floods (galodo), threatening public safety, infrastructure, and socio-economic activities. This community service program aims to strengthen disaster mitigation efforts through the implementation of a sensor-based Early Warning System (EWS) and the development of a river normalization design in disaster-prone areas. Activities included field surveys to identify critical locations, installation and testing of EWS devices, as well as community outreach on disaster preparedness and proper responses to warning signals. Hydrological analysis was also conducted to determine recommended structural actions such as channel widening, reinforcement of unstable riverbanks, and removal of sediment and log debris. The results of the service program show improved community awareness and readiness in utilizing the EWS, alongside technical recommendations to enhance water flow and reduce blockage risk. This integrated effort is expected to increase local resilience and serve as a sustainable mitigation model for similar regions.
