Abstract

Professional teachers have social responsibilities that are realized through teacher competencies and effective interactive skills derived from the social environment. In the context of professional development, teachers cannot escape from academic research activities. Research that is directly related to the main tasks and activities and has a direct impact on improving the quality of learning. One type of research that can be conducted by teachers, especially in the context of special education, is Single Subject Research (SSR). However, many teachers find it difficult to prepare SSR and implement it in the classroom. Teachers' lack of ability in preparing SSR is due to their lack of knowledge or understanding of SSR in practice. Most of the teachers do not have a good understanding of SSR so they cannot solve the problems in writing. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the research capacity of special education teachers through single subject research. The methods used were lectures, discussions and questions and answers, as well as simulations of practical reports on the results of SSR research conducted. The results of the activities carried out illustrate that teacher knowledge increased by 36.07%.
