The Arboretum area has a relatively dry climate, quartz sandy soils, and entisols, which have low nutrient reserves. Soil problems are unfavorable for plant growth in the Arboretum area, so efforts are needed to increase land productivity. The potential trembesi plant (Samanea saman Jacq Merr) is one of the dominant plants growing at Tadulako University. At the same time, leaf litter is not utilized; it is used as a pile of burning garbage. Mentoring activities are carried out with a participatory approach, where participants, as the main target, are involved from the beginning to the end of the program. The results of the initial ability of the participants had an average score of 32.56% in the low category, the first stage of the ability training increased to an average of 65.00% in the medium category and at the end of the activity when a repeat of making compost with the same activity direction was carried out, the results of the participants' abilities became an average of 95.89% perfect
