Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP) implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of all published articles. The review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the online journal system.
  2. Initial Editorial Evaluation
The Editorial Board conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s focus and scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected or returned to authors for preliminary revision, where appropriate.
  3. Plagiarism Screening
Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality before proceeding to peer review.
  4. Double-Blind Peer Review
Each eligible manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, originality, and contribution to the field.
  5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the handling editor makes one of the following decisions:
    • Rejected
    • Requires major revisions
    • Requires minor revisions
    • Accepted
  6. Author Revision and Confirmation
Reviewers’ comments are communicated anonymously to the authors. Authors are required to revise the manuscript accordingly and submit a response to reviewers. The revised manuscript is then re-evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, by the reviewers before a final decision is made.

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the acceptance and publication of all manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP).
