The Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP) is pleased to present its December 2024 issue, showcasing cutting-edge research and advancements in agricultural science. This issue explores a diverse range of topics, including studies on pest management through morphological and molecular characterization, which provide valuable insights into effective control strategies for crops. Research on the impact of planthopper infestations highlights the significance of integrated pest management, especially for underutilized species, while other studies focus on enhancing crop production using innovative approaches such as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria.

Further contributions in this issue include investigations into the functional benefits of chia seeds for cholesterol reduction in poultry, adding a novel perspective to functional feeds. The effects of photoperiod on the growth stages of agricultural pests are also explored, offering practical implications for pest control in varying climatic conditions. Research on sugarcane cultivation demonstrates the impact of liquid inorganic fertilizers on improving crop growth, while studies on ginger-based plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria emphasize sustainable biological control practices against plant pathogens. Finally, this issue addresses entrepreneurial challenges in agriculture, examining the business management factors that influence the success of young agricultural startups. Collectively, these studies contribute to advancing sustainable agricultural practices, improving crop productivity, and addressing critical challenges faced by the agricultural community. We trust this issue will inspire further research and innovation in the field of agriculture.
