Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa dalam menulis skripsi menggunakan mesin pencari google. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan sampel 4 (empat) orang mahasiswa program studi ilmu perpustakaan yang sedang menyusun skripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan model yang dikenalkan oleh David Ellis tahun 1987 dengan tahapan kegiatan Starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring dan extracting. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa dari 6 (enam) kegiatan ini hanya monitoring yang tidak ditemukan.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to know how the studentsinformation seeking behavior in writing a thesis using google search engine. The research use qualitative method by interview 4 (four) students of library science Lancang Kuning who wrote the thesis. This research uses a model that was introduced by David Ellis in 1987 with phases of activity starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, and extracting. From six activity, just monitoring doesn’t find in this research..
