Vol. 23 No. 2 (2026): Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian

We are pleased to announce the publication of Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian Volume 23, Number 2 (2026), comprising one Editorial Note and six research articles. This issue reflects the journal’s continued commitment to publishing relevant and evidence-based studies that address important challenges in tropical agriculture, food systems, crop production, and sustainable land management. The Editorial Note discusses the integration of local agriculture into Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meals Program and highlights the potential role of decentralized procurement in strengthening local farmers, cooperatives, and rural economies. The research articles cover peat degradation under coconut monoculture, fruit-fly surveillance in tropical orchards, growing-media and fertilizer management for grafted avocado seedlings, folic-acid application during potato plantlet acclimatization, melon production under drip irrigation, and the comparative efficacy of organophosphate insecticides against fall armyworm.

Collectively, these contributions bring together perspectives from agricultural policy, soil science, horticulture, plant propagation, and crop protection. They provide locally relevant evidence, identify practical limitations in current production and management practices, and offer directions for improving agricultural productivity while maintaining environmental sustainability. We hope that this issue will be useful to researchers, lecturers, students, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders working to advance more productive, sustainable, and resilient tropical agricultural systems.
