Author Guidelines

Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP) is an open-access journal publishing original research articles in agriculture and related applied sciences.

Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal website. Authors are required to register and log in before making a submission:

All submitted manuscripts must comply with the JIP Style Guide, which can be downloaded from the journal website.

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Submissions may include original research articles, applied conceptual papers, reviews, short communications, and critical analyses.

Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Each manuscript must include an abstract of 200–250 words written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, clearly stating the background, objectives, methods, main findings or novelty, and conclusions.

Authors’ names must be written without academic titles. For multi-authored manuscripts, all editorial correspondence will be conducted with the corresponding author only.

Research/original articles must follow the IMRAD structure:
(a) Introduction  
(b) Materials and Methods  
(c) Results and Discussion  
(d) Conclusion  
(e) References (APA Style)

Review articles should be 15–24 pages (more than 7,000 words).  
Short communications should be 7–8 pages (3,000–5,000 words).
Perspective / Commentary should be 5-7 pages (2,000-3,000 words).
Editorial Note should be 2-5 pages (800-2,000 words) 

References should primarily consist of peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last ten years. Citations must follow the author–year format.

JIP applies strict plagiarism screening using professional similarity-checking software. Manuscripts exceeding acceptable similarity thresholds will be returned or rejected according to the journal’s ethical policy.

Acceptance of a manuscript does not guarantee immediate publication. Authors must complete all revision, copyediting, and production stages in a timely manner.

Submission Preparation Checklist

☑ The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
☑ The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
☑ The manuscript follows the JIP Style Guide and formatting requirements.
☑ The text uses a 12-point font and single spacing.
☑ Figures and tables are placed within the text at appropriate locations.
☑ All references are cited in the text and listed in the reference section using APA style.
☑ URLs or DOIs are provided for references where available.
☑ Three recommended reviewers with institutional affiliation and institutional email addresses have been provided in the Comments to the Editor.

Copyright is transferred to the journal and the work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing others to share and adapt the work with appropriate attribution.

Authors may distribute the published version of the article for non-exclusive purposes, such as institutional repositories or academic books, with acknowledgment of its initial publication in JIP.

Authors are encouraged to share their work online before and during the submission process to enhance visibility and citation impact.
