Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy
Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP) accepts original scholarly manuscripts and does not tolerate plagiarism, unattributed appropriation of text or ideas, misleading recycling of previous material, or redundant publication.
1. Originality Requirements
Authors must cite original sources appropriately; identify quotations and reused materials; obtain permissions when required; disclose related or overlapping manuscripts; and confirm that submissions are not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere.
2. Similarity Screening
Submitted manuscripts are screened using similarity-detection software during editorial assessment and may be checked again before publication. A numerical similarity percentage alone does not establish misconduct or guarantee acceptance. Editors examine the nature, amount, and context of overlap, including quoted text, references, technical expressions, and prior works.
3. Editorial Response
Where overlap raises concerns, editors may request clarification, a revised manuscript, source documentation, or an explanation of earlier dissemination. Significant plagiarism or redundant publication may result in rejection or referral under the Research Misconduct Policy.
4. Concerns After Publication
Credible post-publication concerns will be assessed impartially and may result in correction, expression of concern, or retraction when justified by the evidence and relevant COPE guidance.
