Authorship Criteria and Author Contributions
Jurnal Ilmiah Pertanian (JIP) requires transparent, responsible, and accurate attribution of authorship for all submitted manuscripts. Authorship must reflect genuine intellectual contributions rather than academic rank, funding, or administrative position.
1. Eligibility for Authorship
Every listed author must have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data; participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript for important intellectual content; approved the final version; and agreed to be accountable for the integrity of the work. Individuals who do not meet all these conditions should be acknowledged appropriately.
2. Author Contributions
The corresponding author must submit an accurate Author Contributions statement describing the work performed by each author. JIP recommends the CRediT taxonomy, including roles such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, formal analysis, data curation, validation, visualization, supervision, and writing. A CRediT role alone does not establish authorship eligibility.
3. Corresponding Author and Author Order
The corresponding author must confirm that all authors have approved the manuscript, its submission, and the agreed author order; verify affiliations and contact details; and communicate editorial decisions and requests to coauthors. Gift, honorary, ghost, and coercive authorship are not permitted.
4. Authorship Changes and Disputes
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors require a written explanation and agreement from all affected authors. The editorial team may suspend processing while a dispute is resolved and may refer unresolved disputes to the relevant institutions. Post-publication changes may require a linked correction notice.
5. Responsible Use of AI
Generative AI tools cannot be credited as authors. All authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript and must comply with the journal’s Generative AI Policy.
